Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) invites applications for a GEAR UP Program Coordinator in our College Pipeline Department. This grant-funded role manages programming and support services for GEAR UP to help student retention and completion.

The coordinator oversees delivery of instructional support, coordinates activities, maintains grant data, and reports to the Director of College Pipeline Programs. Work schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm with some evenings.

Qualificações

• Master's degree and a minimum of three (3) years' experience tutoring/teaching junior and senior high school students
• Ability to travel to multiple work sites, work flexible schedule including evenings and Saturday
• Possession of a valid driver's license at the time of hire and for the duration of employment

Responsabilidades

• Develops and maintains effective relationships between GEAR UP and the staff, faculty and administration of the host school as well as the community partners that are affiliated with GEAR UP.
• Manages GEAR UP program operations and activities with students and parents.
• Assesses the achievements of the GEAR UP grant objectives and records all metrics and goals of the grant.
• Communicates with parents/guardians on a regular basis to ensure that parents are aware and involved in student academic performance and participation in GEAR UP activities.
• Designs and implements in coordination with GEAR UP staff, educational activities, materials, programs, services and strategies in classrooms, seminars, workshops, and summer programs for program participants.
• Coordinates the delivery of a wide range of direct academic and instructional assistance, enrichment, intervention, remediation, and support activities and services.
• Maintains accurate grant data, records, and student files to document all services delivered to GEAR UP program participants.
• Assists the Director with all reporting as required by the grant including but not limited to the Federal Department of Education and College administration.
• Coordinates the work for the GEAR UP staff.
• Performs other related duties related to this job description and as assigned by the Director of College Pipeline Programs.
