Integrity Trade Services is seeking a Gear Machinist to join our manufacturing client for an immediate start. The position pays $30-$35/hr DOE and offers comprehensive benefits upon hire.

Responsibilities include setting up and operating gear-cutting equipment, producing precision gears, and inspecting parts for dimensional accuracy. The ideal candidate has at least five years of hands-on gear-manufacturing experience, proficiency with precision measuring tools, and the ability to read gear

Qualifications

Integrity Trade Services is hiring a Gear Machinist for our manufacturing client to start immediately at $30-$35/hr DOE! Receive comprehensive benefits through our client upon hire!

Responsibilities

The Gear Machinist is responsible for producing precision gear components, including helical, spur, worm gears, and splines, using a variety of machining methods. This position requires the ability to interpret blueprints, set up and operate manual and CNC gear hobbing and shaping equipment, and verify finished parts using precision measuring instruments.

• Set up, operate, and monitor multiple types of gear-cutting equipment.
• Produce precision gears and related components according to work orders, blueprints, and quality specifications.
• Perform in-process inspection and measurement of parts to verify dimensional accuracy, material compliance, and adherence to production schedules.
• Select the proper cutting tools, fixtures, machine settings, and materials for each machining job.
• Read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, manufacturing instructions, and gear specifications.
• Perform routine machine upkeep and maintain equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, and quality issues as they arise.
• Follow established safety, quality, and production procedures.

Equipment and Tools

This role uses a variety of manual and CNC gear-manufacturing equipment, including gear hobbing machines, gear shaping machines, worm and thread milling equipment, and CNC-controlled gear-cutting machinery. The employee will also use common shop tools and precision measuring instruments, such as:

• Calipers and micrometers
• Vernier measuring tools
• Hand and power tools
• Various other machining and inspection instruments
• Overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certificate or technical training in machine technology, industrial technology, machining, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of five years of hands-on gear-manufacturing experience, including machine setup and gear cutting.
• Experience operating and setting up manual gear-cutting equipment preferred.
• Experience machining gears from a variety of materials, including steel, stainless steel, bronze, cast materials, and nylon.
• Minimum of five years of experience using precision metrology tools in a manufacturing, machining, or related environment.
• A combination of relevant education, technical training, and demonstrated experience may be considered in place of specific requirements.
• Ability to read and understand gear nomenclature and technical specifications, including diametral pitch, module, circular pitch, pressure angles, and measurement-over-wires requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to set up and operate gear-cutting equipment, including change gears, hob-head settings, tooling, and related machine adjustments.
• Strong knowledge of shop mathematics, including geometry, measurements, conversions, and basic trigonometry.
• Proficiency using precision measuring equipment, including large-capacity micrometers, vernier tools, height gauges, and related inspection instruments.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and manufacturing documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities related to machine setup, tooling, part quality, and production issues.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with production, quality, and supervisory personnel.
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and handling of parts, tools, and materials.
• Ability to safely perform work in an active manufacturing environment.
