A leading company in Fort Worth is seeking a skilled individual for gear finishing operations. The role involves hand grinding and finishing gears, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications. Candidates should have experience in machine shops or hand finishing. This position requires careful material removal and may involve repairs on rejected parts. Work Performed:
Performs a variety of gear finishing operations, which cannot be performed by machine. Hand grinds and hand finishes all types of gears, splines and sprockets, manufactured in the gear section to required tolerance. Using hand or bench type power tools breaks sharp edges, deburrs, chamfers, forms radii and finishes gears to blueprint specifications or verbal instructions.
Selects proper grinding wheels and abrasive material to properly and adequately hand finish each gear tooth using extreme caution to keep from burning, nicking or marring surfaces. Uses considerable care to remove correct amount of material at the exact locations on each tooth. Makes salvage repairs and corrects inspection rejects in finishing all types of gears, splines and sprockets. May etch, stamp or mark work for identification.
Tools & Equipment Used:
Files, abrasives, band and bench power tools and attachments, etching and marking devices, grinding wheels, measuring instruments and gauges.
Experience & Other Requirements:
One year of machine shop experience or one year of hand finishing of machined parts.
