Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an engineer to advance control system technologies and secure, AI-enabled operator interfaces for next-generation power plants. You will evaluate technologies for modern control room environments, help design the HMI platform, and prototype control interfaces using simulation tools.

The role requires a Master’s or Bachelor’s in STEM with relevant post-graduate experience, exposure to cyber security, AI concepts, and industrial protocols.

Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with minimum 1 year of relevant experience post-graduation; or Bachelor’s degree with minimum 2 year of relevant experience post-graduation.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in Human Machine Interface Design with Computer Programming knowledge, computer platform and network devices, or cyber security.
  • Interest in control systems, user interface design, computer platforms including operating system and hypervisors, network architecture and devices, or cyber security including compliance and security control implementations.
  • Awareness of large language and small language artificial intelligence models and prompt engineering.
  • Familiarity with zero-trust cyber security principles.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC UA) or SCADA systems.
  • Familiarity with network devices and configurations such as switches and firewalls.
  • Familiarity with design tools or security control principles.
  • Awareness of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.
Eligibility Requirements

The required work location is Longmont, CO, or Greenville, SC, or Roanoke, VA, or Schenectady, NY (relocation assistance is available) Unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States of America is required. We will not provide sponsorship for this role now or in the future.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $80,000.00 and $120,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
