Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Data Architect to lead the design, development, and deployment of data solutions in GCP. You will be responsible for creating scalable and secure data architectures that align with business objectives and support advanced analytics, data engineering, and AI/ML initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement end-to-end data architecture and data pipelines on GCP.
• Lead data platform modernization efforts, including migration from on-premise or legacy cloud systems to GCP.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
• Build scalable data models, warehouses, and lakes using BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and other GCP-native services.
• Ensure data governance, security, and compliance best practices are embedded into architectural designs.
• Optimize data pipelines and query performance for large-scale datasets.
• Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and data scientists to support analytics and machine learning use cases.
• Develop architectural standards, best practices, and reusable frameworks.
• Stay up to date with GCP updates and evolving data technologies to propose innovative solutions.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in data architecture or engineering, including 2+ years on GCP.
• Expertise in GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Dataproc, and Composer.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, ETL/ELT, and SQL.
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or Deployment Manager.
• Familiarity with data security, privacy regulations, and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or similar programming languages.
• GCP Professional Data Engineer or Cloud Architect certification is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
• Background in real-time data processing and streaming.
• Knowledge of machine learning platforms like Vertex AI or AI Platform.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
