Job summary

Datamatics is seeking an experienced DevOps/Cloud Engineer to architect, build, and maintain scalable GCP environments. The role focuses on IaC with Terraform, CI/CD automation, GKE/Cloud Run operations, and strong SRE practices across teams.

You'll drive cloud-native migration strategies, implement deep observability, and mentor junior engineers while championing DevOps best practices in a fast-paced IT environment.

Qualifications

• 5 to 10+ years in IT infrastructure, systems administration or DevOps.
• 3+ years hands‑on production experience in Google Cloud Platform.
• Expert level Terraform configurations and modular IaC practices.
• Experience with GCP services, CI/CD automation, and container platforms.
• Active Google Cloud professional certifications (DevOps Engineer or Architect) are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Architect, write, and maintain Terraform configurations to provision scalable GCP environments.
• Build, scale, and secure CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Operationalize GKE and Cloud Run with emphasis on auto-scaling and zero-downtime deployments.
• Implement logging, tracing, and metrics with Google Cloud Operations Suite for SLIs/SLOs.
• Automate golden images and configurations with Ansible or Packer.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers on DevOps best practices.

Core Responsibilities

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Architect, write, and maintain modular Terraform configurations to provision scalable GCP landing zones, VPCs, and computing environments.
• CI/CD Automation: Build, scale, and secure deployment pipelines using Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI to automate application and infrastructure changes.
• Container & Platform Engineering: Operationalize Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and Cloud Run environments, optimizing for auto-scaling, resource allocation, and zero-downtime deployments.
• Observability & SRE: Implement deep logging, tracing, and metrics using Google Cloud Operations Suite (Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring) to track SLIs/SLOs and configure smart alerting.
• Configuration Management: Utilize tools like Ansible or Packer to automate golden machine images and application configurations.
• Technical Leadership: Lead complex cloud-native migration strategies, champion DevOps best practices across development teams, and mentor junior engineers.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 5 to 10+ years in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or DevOps, with 3+ years of dedicated, hands‑on production experience in Google Cloud Platform.
• Technical Stack:
  • Cloud Platform: Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform (Expert level)
  • CI/CD & Containers: Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes, GKE, Helm
  • Scripting/Coding: Python, Bash, or Go
  • Linux Systems: Strong background in Linux administration, networking protocols, and OS internals
• Education & Certifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience. Active Google Cloud Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect certifications are highly preferred.
