Job summary

Orion Innovation is seeking a Cloud/AI Developer to design, develop, and maintain Java-based, cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will build secure, scalable services for image capture, processing, storage, and distribution, collaborating with DevOps, QA, product management, and security teams.

Qualifications

Eight years of relevant cloud-based backend experience.
Degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience delivering Java-based microservices on cloud platforms.
Ability to collaborate with DevOps, security, QA and product teams.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain Java-based cloud-native applications on GCP.
Build RESTful APIs with versioning and documentation.
Create image processing pipelines with metadata management and lifecycle controls.
Implement AI-enabled capabilities for image workflows (classification, OCR, redaction).
Ensure security, IAM, encryption, auditing and compliance.
Develop CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code.
Establish observability through logging, metrics, tracing, and runbooks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and deliver high-quality software.
