Job summary

CompQsoft in Fort Meade, MD is seeking a Network Engineer (Intermediate) to design, implement and support gateway engineering solutions for DISA programs. You will engineer end-to-end networking for DoD environments, including IP routing, VPNs, and encryption devices.

You will work on Tier III support, develop implementation plans, and collaborate with security teams to maintain high performance, availability and compliance.

Qualifications

• DoD and/or Government program experience preferred; DISA experience a plus.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 5 years IP network design experience to include Routing/Switching, IPSEC VPNs, Firewalls
• Testing/troubleshooting network traffic
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools; specifically, PowerPoint, Word & Excel
• Excellent communication, effective leadership, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, implement and maintain Gateway engineering solutions
• Design engineering enhancements and develop engineering change requests
• Analyze existing and planned gateway solutions and architectures and make recommendations
• Configure Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, voice gateways, unified communication managers
• Utilize advance security devices including HAIPE, crypto ignition keys and SIPRNet hard tokens
• Apply system patches, security patches and third-party updates in order to maintain systems at a high level of performance, availability, and security.
• Write test plans, conduct testing, and deliver test reports
• Develop detailed implementation plans, configuration guides and other technical documentation
• Deliver timely resolution and document troubleshooting procedures in order to mitigate impact of issues and improve infrastructure performance
• Perform incident response tasks and services restoration
• Provide engineering support to mitigate IA findings
• Provide support to the Automation Team
• Provide on‑call Tier III support as needed.
