Job summary

SegPay is seeking a Gateway Infrastructure Engineer to support and maintain its payment platform infrastructure. The role involves hands-on work in networking, servers, storage, Linux, and security.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in Cisco networking, Linux administration, and troubleshooting complex issues. Responsibilities include configuring Cisco switches, managing firewalls, supporting Cloudflare, and administering enterprise storage.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of infrastructure, systems, or network engineering experience.
• Strong production experience with Cisco networking, including switches, VLANs, and firewalls.
• Experience with Cisco UCS or comparable server infrastructure.
• Strong Linux administration experience.
• Experience working with enterprise storage platforms.

Build and support the infrastructure that keeps payments moving.

SegPay is looking for an experienced Gateway Infrastructure Engineer to join our Technology Operations team and help support, maintain, and improve the infrastructure behind our payment platform.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys taking ownership of critical systems. You'll work across networking, servers, storage, Linux, security, and data center infrastructure, helping ensure the environment supporting our payment technology remains reliable, secure, and available.

If you have strong infrastructure experience-particularly with Cisco networking, Linux, and enterprise systems-and enjoy troubleshooting complex technical challenges, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

• Configure and troubleshoot Cisco switching, including VLANs, trunks, and switch ports
• Manage and troubleshoot firewall rules and network connectivity
• Support Cloudflare, including DNS, WAF, rate limiting, and origin configuration
• Troubleshoot network issues and assist with network design and improvements
• Support and maintain Cisco UCS infrastructure
• Manage enterprise storage, including Pure Storage
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux systems
• Use scripting and automation to improve infrastructure operations
• Support MariaDB and related database infrastructure as needed
• Maintain infrastructure monitoring and alerting
• Assist with data center operations, including rack‑and‑stack activities

The position spans network, server, storage, Linux, Cloudflare, monitoring, and physical data center responsibilities.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands‑on professional experience
• 4+ years of infrastructure, systems, or network engineering experience
• Strong production experience with Cisco networking, including switches, VLANs, and firewalls
• Experience with Cisco UCS or comparable server infrastructure
• Strong Linux administration experience
• Experience working with enterprise storage platforms
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities
• Ability to take ownership of infrastructure issues from identification through resolution

Even Better If You Have

Experience with Pure Storage, MariaDB/MySQL, Cloudflare, cloud platforms, virtualization, Bash/Python/PowerShell scripting, SolarWinds, Ansible/Terraform, or Cisco certifications would be valuable. Experience working with payment systems, PCI DSS, regulated environments, or formal change‑control processes is also relevant to the role.
