Job summary

Georgia-Pacific’s Muskogee Mill in Muskogee, OK, is hiring a Gatekeeper – Pulp (Maintenance Operations Coordinator) to connect Operations, Maintenance, Reliability and Engineering. You will own backlog management, drive reliability improvements and help execute maintenance work and asset strategies with disciplined processes.

You will guide teams, improve safety and compliance, and mentor staff while managing weekly schedules and long-term maintenance plans.

Qualifications

• Experience mentoring others in manufacturing, industrial or military environments.
• Experience implementing precision maintenance techniques to improve equipment reliability.
• Experience with steam generation, electrical power systems, water treatment facilities, compressed air systems and related equipment.

• Steer safety, environmental stewardship, health, and compliance by identifying high-risk hazards and managing risks.
• Lead, mentor, and coach team members, ensuring accountability for outcomes influenced by performance and capability.

• Organize and manage weekly maintenance craft schedules based on planned work assignments.
• Oversee annual performance development processes for departmental staff, aligning roles and expectations with mill goals.
• Provide continuous coaching to employees and manage environmental, health, and safety risks of maintenance activities.
• Develop maintenance team capabilities in line with corporate culture and be a resource for mechanical systems.
• Manage capital and maintenance backlogs to ensure maximum value delivery.

Gatekeeper - Pulp (Maintenance Operations Coordinator)

Georgia-Pacific's Consumer Products business is seeking a Maintenance Operations Coordinator Gatekeeper) to support our Muskogee Mill in Muskogee, Oklahoma. This role will serve as a key connection point between Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, and Engineering teams to ensure maintenance resources are focused on the highest-value opportunities. The Gatekeeper will own maintenance backlog management, support maintenance planning processes, drive reliability improvements, manage finances, and help create long-term value through disciplined execution of maintenance work processes and asset strategies.

• Develop and implement strategies for mechanical and/or electrical/instrumentation work processes, reliability enhancements, daily and outage work execution, precision maintenance, and planning.
• Oversee the annual performance development process for departmental employees, ensuring individual roles, responsibilities, and expectations (RRE’s) are aligned with overall mill and department objectives.
• Provide continuous, meaningful coaching to employees.
• Manage the environmental, health, and safety risks associated with site maintenance activities.
• Develop the maintenance team's capabilities in alignment with the corporate culture of Principle Based Management and serve as a knowledgeable resource for mechanical systems within the mill.
• Organize and develop weekly maintenance craft schedules based on planned work assignments.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Experience mentoring others within a manufacturing, industrial or military environment
• Experience implementing precision maintenance techniques to improve equipment reliability
• Experience with some or all of the following equipment - steam generation, electrical power systems, water treatment facilities, compressed air systems, winders, slitters, cross-cutter, coater, laminators, calendar, embosser, presses, perforator, die cutters, dryers.
• Experience prioritizing work and spend plans.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) (i.e. - SAP preferred)
• Experience in Pulp & Paper, Chemical Manufacturing, Oil and Gas, Steel and Metal Manufacturing, or Refinery Industry
• Experience with facilities maintenance and repairing/troubleshooting pumps, gearboxes, mechanical drive systems, and hydraulics systems
