The position requires the ability to respond to emergencies, operate gate systems, and work extended hours including weekends. A strong focus on professionalism and safety is essential to maintain community standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to stand, walk, and operate on varied gates and weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs and perform repetitive motions.
  • Willing to work extended hours and weekends as gate staffing requires.
  • Able to navigate the property quickly and safely.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and direct residents, guests, and vendors; respond to inquiries.
  • Operate electronic gate control systems and respond to emergencies.
  • Provide exceptional service to all residents and guests; ensure safety.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and association policies.
  • Maintain workflow and report equipment or supply needs to supervision.

Job Overview

As a Gatekeeper, you will be the first point of contact for every homeowner, board member, resident, guest, and vendor. The Gatekeeper ensures the highest possible level of service is being offered to all incoming residents and guests.

Your Responsibilities
  • Must be able to understand and react to emergency situations and operate electronic gate control systems.
  • Provide exceptional service to all residents and guests
  • Responsible for greeting and welcoming residents and guests, and directing them to their destination if assistance is needed.
  • Comply with all safety regulations
  • Follow all policies and procedures established by association for the gate house
Additional Responsibilities
  • Practice and adhere to FirstService Residential Global Service Standards.
  • Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct.
  • Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules.
  • Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.
Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. following appropriate safety procedures
  • Work in an upright standing position for long periods of time; be able to reach overhead; have full range of mobility in upper and lower body
  • Repeat various motions with the wrists, hands and fingers.
  • Must be able to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes and delays. Must be able to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and cheerfully under such circumstances. For safety reasons, employee must remain alert to working conditions and aware of safety, health, and environmental concerns.
  • Must be able to work effectively and cheerfully in an environment which may be stressful due to adversarial situations resulting from the proper performance of duties.
Physical Requirements / Working Environment

  • Position involves sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, shoving, lifting, carrying and moving objects that can weigh up to 25 lbs. This movement can occur throughout the day. Must also be able to climb several flights of stairs if necessary.
  • Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to communicate both on the phone and in person with our clients in order to resolve issues and manage the business.
  • Must have finger dexterity for typing/using a keyboard.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and other associates.
  • Must be capable of working extended hours, to include evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary.
  • This position may alternate between working indoors in a controlled climate and with proper lighting, to an outdoors setting with variable climate and lighting.
  • Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail oriented, and with good reasoning skills.
  • Must be able to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes and delays. Must be able to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and cheerfully under such circumstances. Compensation

$18.00 per hour

What We Offer

As a full-time exempt associate, you will be eligible for full comprehensive benefits to include your choice of multiple medical plans, dental, vision, and others. In addition, you will be eligible for time off benefits, paid holidays and a 401k with company match. Occasional travel may be required to attend training and other company functions.
