Job summary

APM Terminals Elizabeth is seeking an Assistant Manager, Gate Operations to manage inbound/outbound gate activities, lead hourly labor, and ensure safe, productive operations at the Elizabeth, NJ facility.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, 1–3 years in operations, and experience with Navis N4/XPS, TERMPoint, and ORBITA; strong data interpretation and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• 1–3 years in operations, logistics, or terminal environments.
• Experience with Navis N4/XPS, TERMPoint and ORBITA preferred.
• Ability to interpret operational data and Power BI dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Direct Head Clerks and hourly union clerks in inbound/outbound gate operations.
• Deploy labor and gate resources to maximize productivity and service.
• Monitor attendance, authorize overtime, and manage payroll adjustments.
• Ensure gate transactions data integrity in Navis N4/XPS, TERMPoint, and related systems.
• Make real-time labor allocation and gate priority decisions.
• Monitor performance metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives.
