Job summary

Per Mar Security Services is seeking gate security officers for a home improvement store setting in Pierre, SD. You will manage access control for customers, inspect vehicles, and monitor the facility to deter theft and incidents.

Qualified candidates are detail oriented, comfortable using a tablet, and committed to integrity and excellent customer service. Pay ranges from $18.50 to $19.50 per hour with benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Technical training or college education in security-related field preferred.
• Prior security officer experience is preferred.
• Demonstrates Per Mar Security values: integrity, communication, service, accountability.

Responsibilities

• Attend gate and provide access control for customers entering/exiting the back lot.
• Check accuracy of orders picked up by customers leaving the facility.
• Thoroughly examine vehicles entering the premises and note items inside.
• Monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or rule infractions.
• End of shift, walk the yard and report suspicious activity or criminal acts.
• Address persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts; request emergency personnel when needed.

Job Skills / Requirements

Per Mar Security is looking for qualified candidates for gate Security Officers in a home improvement store setting. The best candidates will be comfortable working independently. You are detail oriented and will have basic technology skills including the ability to operate a tablet. M-F: $18.50/HR SAT-SUN: $19.50/HR

• Attend gate and provide access control for customers coming in and out of the back lot of the facility
• Check accuracy of orders picked up as customers leave the facility
• Thoroughly examine vehicles as they enter the premises and make note of existing items within vehicles
• Monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules
• End of shift, walk the yard and report any suspicious activities or criminal acts
• Address persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts
• Request emergency personnel for high-risk situations
