Qualifications

• Graduate of a State-approved school of nursing.
• Current, unrestricted license to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• BLS and ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build therapeutic and supportive relationships with patients and families, providing education and managing care transitions.
• Assess patient symptoms and concerns received through telephone calls, patient portal messages, secure chat, and referrals.
• Prioritize patient needs based on clinical urgency and established protocols.
• Escalate complex or urgent clinical issues to GI physicians or Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs).
• Review and respond to patient inquiries regarding GI conditions, medications, test results, and treatment plans.
• Provide clinical guidance within nursing scope of practice.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, mentor nursing staff, and uphold high standards of patient service and safety.
• Manage electronic medical record (EMR) in-basket workflows.
• Review and address patient portal messages, refill requests, test results, and provider communications.
• Identify messages requiring provider review and route appropriately.
