Job summary

Odyssey Locums is seeking a gastroenterologist for a Tyler, Texas locum tenens assignment. The role requires performing scheduled colonoscopies and follow-up inpatient consults, with additional GI lab procedures such as ERCP and EUS.

Epic charting is used for documentation, and providers will manage a 5-7 patient encounters per shift. The candidate must hold an active Texas medical license with BC Gastro board certification and ABLS/ACLS/ATLS/BLS credentials.

Qualifications

• Active Texas license is required.
• Board certification in Gastroenterology is preferred (BC Gastro).
• Credentialing and ACLS/BLS certifications are expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled colonoscopies and follow-up inpatient consults.
• Handle GI lab procedures including ERCP and EUS.
• Work with Epic charting system and document encounters.
• Manage patient volume and provide high-quality GI care.
