Join Our Team as a Gastroenterology Physician in Rockport, Maine!

We are seeking a Locum Gastroenterology Physician to cover starting August through December 2026 at an esteemed medical facility located in the picturesque town of Rockport, Maine. This opportunity offers a supportive environment with full staff available in the OR, ensuring seamless patient care and an enjoyable work experience. The practice is dedicated to providing top-notch healthcare with an emphasis on patient-centered treatment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performing endoscopic procedures in the OR and potentially one day per week in the clinic.
• Providing outpatient care for adult patients in the clinic setting.
• Managing a patient load of 14-16 per day.
• Collaborating with onsite lab and x-ray services.
• Utilizing electronic medical records (EMR) system: Epic.
• Offering anesthesia support from both CRNA and Anesthesiologists.
• Completing required procedures such as GI endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, and colonoscopy.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology (ABMS or AOA) - REQUIRED.
• Active Maine medical license - HIGHLY PREFERRED.
• Availability to work at least one week per month through 2026 - REQUIRED.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications - REQUIRED.
• Experience in performing advanced procedures - REQUIRED.
• Up-to-date COVID and flu vaccinations - REQUIRED.

Licensure and Certification Requirements:

• Board certification in Gastroenterology.
• MA active medical license preferred.
• ACLS and BLS certification required.
