An established industry player is seeking dedicated gastroenterology providers to assist with coverage starting July 1, 2025. This role involves managing inpatient and emergency department consults while ensuring high-quality care for patients. With a unique schedule of one week on and one week off, providers will enjoy a balanced work-life dynamic. The position requires an active California license and board certification in gastroenterology, with ERCP experience being essential and EUS preferred. We are seeking approximately 4 providers to assist with coverage starting July 1, 2025. Emergency privileges are approved. Candidates must hold an active CA license and be BC in Gastroenterology. Responsibilities include covering inpatient and ED gastroenterology consults and managing the in-house GI consult service.
Availability required is 1 week on, 1 week off.
Working hours are from 7am to 7am, with approximately 7 hours of onsite presence. Call during onsite hours is included, and any callback hours where the provider is called back after night call can be billed immediately.
Providers typically see an average of 9 consults per day. ERCP is required; EUS is preferred.
In 2024, there were 3,252 unique encounters with GI consult notes and 1,576 inpatient scopes. ERCP was needed in 6.7% of total scopes, and EUS in 2.2%.
