Coverage Need

Average census is 10-12 patients on service per day; includes approximately 1 additional procedure per day; 1-2 call backs per week for urgent/emergency cases. Weekday duties include outpatient/inpatient procedures, inpatient rounding, consults, ED guidance. Weekend duties include urgent/emergency procedures, inpatient rounding, consults, ED guidance. Off-call weeks involve outpatient visits and/or procedures at the OR.

Submissions Requirements

Skill Requirements

• Upper GI endoscopy including biopsy, foreign body removal, bleeder cautery (fulguration), variceal injection, PEG
• Esophageal dilatation and manometry, including interpretation

• Lower GI procedures: sigmoidoscopy (flexible and rigid), colonoscopy with biopsy or polyp excision
