Job description

Location: Lebanon VA Medical Center, 1700 South Lincoln Ave., Lebanon, PA 17042

Responsibilities include:

1. Providing outpatient clinic services for Gastroenterology, including endoscopy procedures, and inpatient gastroenterology consultations for medical care.
2. Working regular hours from Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
3. Participating in weeknight call from Monday to Friday, 4:30 pm to 8:00 am, and weekend/holiday call 24/7, including callbacks and overtime as needed.
4. Ensuring patients are seen by a physician on-site at Lebanon VAMC in a timely manner, adhering to VA rules regarding clinic wait times and consultation completion.
5. Notifying the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) at least monthly of any obstacles to meeting performance standards.
6. Providing off-hours coverage, with physicians available on-call during all hours when the clinic is closed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
7. Offering on-call services from 4:30 pm to 8:00 am and 24-hour coverage during weekends and federal holidays.
8. Responding to emergencies or on-call situations within 15 minutes.
9. Reporting to the VA facility within 60 minutes of receiving a phone call.
10. Remaining available at all times for phone consultations with VA residents and physicians.
