Perm - Physician - Gastroenterology

The Jackson Division of Gastroenterology is seeking a Board Eligible/Certified Gastroenterologist with ERCP certification. Join an exciting opportunity with a forward-looking dynamic GI hospital program and a full support staff. This facility offers a Trauma Level II environment and is affiliated with a robust medical group, providing pathways for comprehensive patient care.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology care.
• Conduct rounds and manage clinic visits; average patient load includes a day of clinic with APP support.
• Participate in patient care growth initiatives, including a replacement hire.
• Utilize the hospital-owned endoscopy center and outpatient clinic for streamlined patient access.
• Engage in teaching opportunities through the GME program for interested candidates.
• Demonstrate knowledge of field specialization through successful project completion.
• Contribute to organizational practices relevant to gastroenterology.
• Fulfill on-call duties, with a ratio of 1:6, including some weekends.
• Additional job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Board Eligible (must become Board Certified within one year) or Board Certified in Gastroenterology.
• Fellowship-trained in Gastroenterology.
• 5-8 years of GI work experience preferred (excluding residency/fellowship).
• Clean malpractice and license history.
• Proficiency in ERCP; additional proctoring may be available.
• Preferred certifications: ITIL, PMP.
• Proximity to larger cities is desirable; candidates must be willing to work within the area.

License and Certification Requirements:

• Current Michigan medical license (or willingness to obtain).
• BLS certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Current COVID and flu vaccinations required for consideration.
• Eligible for visa support as needed (H1B only).
