- Other Details: The facility which is stroke-certified is looking for a provider to cover on-site clinical hours and beeper call if needed. The facility is seeking at least three full-time GI physicians to provide 24-hour coverage, with onsite shifts Monday Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM and call coverage from 5 PM to 8 AM on weekdays, as well as weekend call from Friday at 5 PM to Monday at 8 AM. Physicians are not required to remain onsite during call unless their physical presence is needed for cases such as emergent endoscopic procedures, gastrointestinal bleeding, bowel obstructions or perforations, ED consultations for GI emergencies (e.g., pancreatitis, liver failure), or post-operative complications. Physicians are not required to oversee routine care provided by non-GI specialists unless a GI-related intervention is necessary. Call back hours must be logged on timesheets with detailed notes for verification via EHR audits, while telephone consultations and medical record reviews do not count as onsite call back hours. Expected durations for call back cases include up to 90 minutes for GI bleeding consultations, 1-2 hours for endoscopic procedures, up to 2 hours for GI obstruction/perforation management, and generally under 3 hours for post-operative GI care, depending on severity.
