Job summary

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital in Boston, MA is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join the patient care team on a 40-hour weekday schedule. The PCA will support the RN with clinical tasks, monitor blood glucose, perform EKGs, apply simple dressings, and respond to emergencies using Heartsaver CPR and AED.

The role emphasizes patient- and family-centered care; prior CNA/PCA experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant or current Nursing Student who has completed Fundamentals of Nursing or equivalent med/surgical clinical rotation.
• HeartSaver CPR AED certification is required by the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Ability to read, write and speak English effectively.
• Ability to pass clinical competency and basic math testing.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with clinical tasks such as blood glucose monitoring and EKGs.
• Apply dressings using aseptic technique and respond to emergencies.
• Provide patient- and family-centered care and support unit operations.
• Maintain accurate documentation and assist with basic patient care activities.
