Job summary

Saint Peter’s Health Care System is seeking a Nurse Practitioner in Gastroenterology to provide ambulatory care across adult populations. The role emphasizes direct patient care, care coordination with physicians, and adherence to evidence-based guidelines.

The NP will join a team of physicians, nurses, and support staff to deliver high-quality care, maintain patient education, and manage the full spectrum of GI clinic activities within standard shifts.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of New Jersey.
• Current Advanced Practice Nursing licensure in the State of New Jersey.
• Current CDS and DEA required.
• Master's degree in nursing required.
• Two (2) years' experience in specialty strongly preferred.
• Certified as a nurse practitioner in the State of New Jersey within area of specialty.
• BLS certification, as approved by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within the limits prescribed by training.
• Coordinate care of adult medical patients with physicians and the health care team.
• Develop treatment plans and monitor clinical activities following evidence-based guidelines.
• Assist with patient flow and on-call coverage; support scheduling and education activities.
• Review laboratory reports and notify clinicians of urgent results.
• Maintain patient education and ensure continuity of care across life stages.
