Job summary

United Digestive is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to support physicians in a fast-paced gastroenterology clinic. You will manage patient flow, assist with in-office procedures, and ensure accurate charting in the EMR.

Strong customer service and communication skills are essential, with 2–3 years in gastroenterology preferred. Responsibilities include triage, chart preparation, test coordination, prescription entries, and ensuring HIPAA compliance while delivering high-quality patient

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant with current credentials.
• 2–3 years of specialty clinical experience, gastroenterology preferred.
• Must be computer literate and proficient with healthcare systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and organize patient flow for visits and procedures.
• Escort patients, triage, obtain history, and document clinical assessments.
• Schedule tests and obtain results; communicate findings to physicians/patients.
• Assist with in-office procedures and manage patient charts in EMR.
• Prepare charts before visits; ensure charting and forms are up to date.
• Enter prescription refill requests in EMR and advise on medications.
• Maintain exam rooms; uphold sterilization and infection control.
• Provide patient education and respond to inquiries promptly.
• Handle HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality.
• Assist with phone triage, check-in/out, and other duties as directed.
