Job summary

Mercy Clinic Gastroenterology is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to support providers with direct and indirect patient care in a busy outpatient setting. You will room patients, take vital signs, prepare for exams, assist with procedures, and document care accurately while maintaining clean exam rooms and adhering to safety standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and MA training, with at least one year of ambulatory care experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• One year of outpatient or ambulatory care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain vital signs, and update histories.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers.
• Perform basic diagnostic testing and document care.
• Reinforce provider-directed patient education.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and PPE use.
• Schedule tests/referrals and support front-office operations.
• Participate in quality initiatives and team meetings.
