Qualifications

• MD/DO/PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in medicine, biomedical sciences, or health-related discipline.
• Internationally recognized record of scientific achievement with at least 2 years of independent research in high-impact journals.
• Sustained extramural funding and an active funded research program.

Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain an internationally recognized research program funded by extramural sources.
• Provide scientific leadership within the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and the Department.
• Teach and mentor graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, clinical fellows, and junior faculty.
• Foster collaborations across UC San Diego and the broader San Diego biomedical community.
