UC San Diego is recruiting for the Kagnoff Endowed Chair in the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology. This faculty position seeks an internationally distinguished physician-scientist or scientist advancing GI and liver disease research through innovative scholarship and leadership.

Qualifications

• Internationally recognized record of scientific achievement with at least 2 years of independent research published in high-impact journals.
• Sustained extramural research funding and an active funded program.
• Proven excellence in mentorship, education and interdisciplinary collaboration with teaching/mentorship experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain an internationally recognized research program with extramural funding.
• Provide scientific leadership within the Division and Department.
• Teach and mentor graduate students, postdocs, clinical fellows, and junior faculty.
• Foster interdisciplinary collaborations across UC San Diego and the San Diego biomedical community.
