Job summary

Ascension's Nashville GI facility in Nashville, TN is seeking a Medical Assistant for full-time daytime hours. The role supports patient intake, documentation, and coordination of treatments within a primary care/gastroenterology setting.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year MA experience, a current BLS certification, and CMA credentialing within 4 months of hire. Monday–Friday schedule and opportunities for growth are highlighted in this role.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certified Medical Assistant within 120 days of hire; approved credentialing bodies include AMT, NHA, NCT, NAHP, AAMA.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient visits by preparing treatment environments and conducting initial screenings.
• Document vital signs and care journeys to support clinical decisions.
• Transcribe and process orders for labs and imaging; ensure timely follow-up services.
• Manage front-of-house communications and maintain medical supplies to support the care team.
