Job summary

The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS) in Tucson seeks a full-time gastroenterologist to join the GI Division. The role includes clinical care of patients, teaching medical students and residents, and participation in research and quality improvement efforts.

Candidates should be board certified or board eligible in gastroenterology, be eligible for VA appointment, and enjoy a collaborative academic-affiliated environment with opportunities for teaching and clinical research.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with eligibility for medical licensure in the US
• GI board certification or recent board eligibility
• Completion of approved GI residency program
• Proficiency in English

Responsibilities

• Provide gastroenterology clinical care to adults in a VA setting
• Supervise and teach fellows, residents and medical students
• Participate in quality improvement and clinical research
• Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration and teaching activities
• Possibly perform advanced endoscopy procedures as interest/expertise allows
