Job summary

Atrius Health in Dedham, MA is seeking a Gastroenterologist to assess, diagnose, and treat patients requiring specialized GI care. You will work within a team-based model that partners with hospitals, community specialists, and skilled nursing facilities to deliver high-quality, evidence-based medicine.

The successful candidate will be board-certified or eligible in Gastroenterology and hold or be eligible for necessary state licensure; BLS certification is required with ACLS preferred in

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical School or School of Osteopathic Medicine.
• Board Certified or Board Certified Eligible in Gastroenterology.
• Current active DEA licensure/prescriptive authority or ability to obtain post-hire, per state regulations.
• Current active Mass DPH Controlled Substances Registration or ability to obtain post-hire, per state regulations.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs physical assessments on patients with specialized conditions.
• Develop and implement a plan of care for these patients, as well as prescribe medications, exercises and/or other treatments.
• Collaborates with the clinical and administrative teams in the management of patient care.
• Serves as a liaison between primary care providers and specialists such as general surgeons, urology, orthopedic and ENT surgeons.
• Teaches and counsels individuals and groups with regard to specific health care needs.
• Participates in the development of health education programs.
