Job summary

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Gastroenterologist to join a team-based specialty practice in eastern Massachusetts. You will assess, diagnose and treat patients, collaborating with primary and specialty care partners to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based care.

You will provide leadership in developing care plans, educate patients and staff, and participate in program development and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Medical School or School of Osteopathic Medicine.
Board Certified or Board Certified Eligible in Gastroenterology.
Active DEA licensure/prescriptive authority or ability to obtain post-hire.
Active Mass DPH Controlled Substances Registration or ability to obtain post-hire.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

Performs physical assessments on patients with specialized conditions.
Develop and implement a plan of care for these patients, and prescribe medications, exercises and/or other treatments.
Collaborates with clinical and administrative teams to manage patient care and maintain continuity of care.
Serves as a liaison between primary care providers and specialists; consults on patient care.
Teaches and counsels individuals and groups on health care needs; educates in areas of specialization.
Participates in the development of health education programs.
