Job summary

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Gastroenterologist to join the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Digestive and Liver Diseases. The role includes clinical care in Gastroenterology-Hepatology and teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.

Endoscopic procedures will be a core responsibility at Parkland Memorial Hospital. Applicants should have an MD from an LCME-approved school, completed Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship

Qualifications

  • MD degree from an LCME-accredited medical school and completion of an Internal Medicine residency.
  • Fellowship in Gastroenterology from an ACGME-accredited program and board eligibility/certification.
  • Eligibility for Texas medical license and board certification in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care in Gastroenterology-Hepatology and manage digestive disorders.
  • Perform endoscopic procedures and related diagnostic/t therapeutic interventions.
  • Teach and train medical students, house staff, and fellows.
  • Contribute to clinical duties at Parkland Memorial Hospital and UT Southwestern.

Job description

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Digestive and Liver Diseases, is seeking a GASTROENTEROLOGIST. The position will play a major role with services at Parkland Memorial Hospital. This position will be functioning as a gastrointestinal physician, with responsibilities and duties in patient activities in Gastroenterology-Hepatology in addition to teaching and training medical students, house staff, and fellows. A UT Southwestern Gastroenterology position is a clinical role that involves patient care, including the diagnosis and treatment of digestive disorders, Liver, and performing endoscopic procedures.

Applicant must have an M.D degree or equivalent, from an approved LCME medical school and satisfactory completion of an Internal Medicine residency program and Gastroenterology fellowship from an ACGME accredited program. Candidate must be eligible for Texas medical license and be board certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology.
