Job summary

WVU Health System Medical Group (SMG) seeks a gastroenterologist to join a well-established hospital practice at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. The ideal candidate will diagnose and treat digestive disorders in outpatient and inpatient settings.

Candidates must have an MD or DO, be eligible for WV licensure, complete residency in Internal Medicine and GI fellowship, and be ABIM board certified or eligible. The role includes a 1:6 call and robust benefits with recruitment incentives.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required; eligible for state medical license in WV.
• Completed Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship.
• Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology by ABIM.
• Position within WVU Health System Medical Group (SMG) at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat digestive disorders including liver disease, ulcers, IBS, cancers in outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Provide consultative GI care and participate in hospital-based services.
• Support a call schedule of 1:6 and contribute to endoscopy volume and clinic/endoscopy days as described by the group.
