Job summary

Weatherby Healthcare seeks an experienced GI specialist for a 24-hour call-based assignment in Missouri. Inpatient GI practice will require EGD, ERCP, colonoscopy, liver biopsy, and related procedures.

The role includes call shifts, patient rounding, and timely responses within 30 minutes. The position offers paid malpractice, pre-paid travel and housing, and dedicated Weatherby consultants available around the clock.

Qualifications

• Procedures and interventions specific to GI practice.
• Experience with inpatient gastroenterology settings recommended.
• Familiarity with complex endoscopic techniques advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Work a 24-hour call shift schedule (5–11 shifts per month).
• Respond within 30 minutes during call (call ratio 1:3).
• Rounding on assigned patients (0–6 per shift).
• Perform inpatient gastroenterology procedures as required.
• Provide endoscopic services including EGD, ERCP, colonoscopy, and liver biopsy.
• Perform PEG placement, esophageal dilatation, small bowel biopsy, and sigmoidoscopy as needed.
• Assist with Sengstaken/Blakemore tube insertion and management when indicated.
• Cover leave and manage time-entry documentation in the online portal.
