Summary

The section of Gastroenterology & Hepatology in the Department of Medicine is recruiting a Gastroenterologist to join our Baylor Medicine practice. The candidate will provide outpatient and inpatient services in the Baylor Medicine Sugarland at our Baylor Medicine Gastroenterology at Sugar Land. Clinical care responsibilities will include outpatient clinics, endoscopy, and inpatient service rotations. Duties will include direct patient care, participation in the education of trainees, and participating in section meetings/conferences. Opportunities for research, quality improvement, and leadership activities will be strongly supported.

Job Duties

• Evaluate new and existing patients in the clinic setting and outpatient endoscopy.
• Participate in the inpatient consult service at Baylor St. Luke's.
• Develop a treatment plan for patients.
• Meet productivity benchmarks established by Baylor College of Medicine.
• Participate in all routine clinical meetings held with the immediate work group.
• Maintain required certifications and licensing.
• Become familiar with Electronic Medical Record system, enter data into EMR, and develop a level of competency to document all patient encounters.
• Complete all documentation in a timely manner.
• Order diagnostic services and refer to specialists.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum Education: M.D.
• Minimum Job Experience: Residency & Fellowship training in Gastroenterology.
• Minimum Certification/Licenses/Registration: License from Texas Medical Board certification. Board required to practice medicine in the state of Texas.
