Position Overview

McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), clinical track faculty position in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor.

We seek a team-oriented Clinical Pathologist to join our expanding services at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, offering significant opportunities for career growth through building cross-unit relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Training residents, fellows, and medical students, and developing research programs.
  2. Serving as a professional role model in behavior, leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  3. Collaborating with UTHealth Houston, hospital administration, and physicians to identify opportunities and develop service plans.
  4. Engaging in professional growth activities such as seminars, workshops, and literature review to stay current in the field.
  5. Potential future involvement in Autopsy services.
Qualifications
  1. Texas Medical License or eligibility for a Texas Faculty Temporary License (M.D. or D.O.).
  2. Residency with board certification in Anatomic Pathology or AP/CP by the American Board of Pathology.
  3. Experience in Neuropathology, with preferred subspecialty training in areas such as Molecular, Cardiovascular, Pediatrics, General Surgical Pathology, or Gastrointestinal Pathology.
