Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
• Active New Jersey medical license or eligibility to obtain one.
• Fellowship training in gastroenterology.
• Experience in general gastroenterology and routine endoscopic procedures; fellowships graduates considered.
• Ability to manage a broad outpatient GI population.
• IBD experience or strong clinical interest preferred.
• Hepatology experience or interest preferred.
• Advanced endoscopy skills beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient consultation, follow-up, screening, and management of general gastroenterology conditions.
• Perform routine colonoscopies and upper endoscopies in a hospital-based setting.
• Evaluate and manage inflammatory bowel disease, GERD, colorectal cancer screening needs, abdominal pain, anemia, GI bleeding, bowel disorders, liver disease, hemorrhoids, and related conditions.
• Collaborate with primary care, advanced practice providers, hospital teams, and administrative staff.
• Review testing, follow through on orders, and support coordinated patient care.
• Participate in a 40-hour workweek with limited telephone-based call responsibilities and no anticipated routine inpatient rounding.
• Help shape and expand the organization’s gastroenterology service line.
