Job summary

VELUX in Greenwood, SC is seeking a Gasket Welding Operative for the 2nd shift to perform repetitive gasket welding operations in skylight component parts according to production standards.

You will follow Job Instructions, read blueprints, and maintain 5S practices while meeting safety, quality, and productivity goals. Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
• Experience in a production environment is preferred.
• Ability to perform the essential functions assigned to the position.
• Experience reading and utilizing blueprints is preferred.
• Understanding of metric measurement systems is preferred.
• Must be able to work overtime and on weekends as needed.
• The desire and ability to work in a team environment demonstrated through a positive quality, safety, attendance and good work history.
• Compliance with all rules of conduct, safety regulations and policies provided in Employee Handbooks, on Company bulletin boards/announcements, terms/conditions of employment or other means of communication is a requirement of the job.

Primary Purpose

The primary purpose of this position is to perform repetitive gasket welding operations in the manufacturing of skylight component parts according to production standards and plans.

Gasket Welding Operative 2nd shift

The primary purpose of this position is to perform repetitive gasket welding operations in the manufacturing of skylight component parts according to production standards and plans.

Primary Responsibilities

• Performs work according to Job Instructions (J.I.’s) assigned to the position
• Pulls gasket to proper length and width, cycles machine, ensures good weld gasket
• Ensures production, quality and safety standards are met
• Performs cleaning and maintaining of 5’s practices
• Performs other assignments as directed by local supervision

Hourly Pay Rate

$20.25 - $22.30 ($1 shift differential for 2nd shift)

Shift schedule

2nd shift 4:30pm to 3:00am Monday - Thursday
