Job summary

Siemens Energy in Orlando, FL is seeking a senior piping engineer to design, manage, and validate piping systems for power plant projects. You will develop detailed piping drawings, create 3D models, perform pipe stress analysis, and ensure compliance with ASME B31.1 and related standards.

You will collaborate with multi-discipline teams, coordinate with fabricators and insulation vendors, and contribute to quality assurance while traveling to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering degree required with GPA 3.0 or higher.
• Five or more years of piping engineering experience preferred.
• Experience in pipe stress analysis using PC-based programs; AUTOPIPE preferred.
• Familiarity with ASME B31.1, ASME B16.5, AISC, and AWS.
• Experience with STAAD.PRO for pipe support analysis.
• Ability to perform hand calculations for structural members, weld sizing, base plates, anchors, and spring hangers.
• Desirable familiarity with Bentley OpenPlant.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Responsible for issuing Piping Drawings for project specific applications.
• Review, Control and Own 3D Piping Models.
• Perform Pipe Stress Analysis and Pipe Support Calculations as required.
• Write Technical specifications as required.
• Co-ordinate with Piping Fabricators and Piping Insulation Vendors.

What You Bring

• (Mechanical Engineering) from recognized university. GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Five or more years of piping engineering experience preferred.
• Experience in performing pipe stress analysis by using PC based computer program. Preferable experience with AUTOPIPE.
• Experience with ASME B31.1, ASME B16.5, AISC Latest Edition, and AWS.
• Experience in using STAAD PRO for pipe support analysis
• Experience in performing hand calculations for qualification of structural members, weld sizing, base plate qualification, anchor bolt evaluation, spring hangers, etc.
• Familiarity with Bentley Open Plant is desirable.
