Job summary

Quest Defense System and Solution is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop and improve gas turbine and aero-engine components, including frames, shafts, disks, blisks, and seals. The role combines mechanical design, engineering analysis and manufacturing support to meet customer requirements and improve performance and producibility.

Location: 100% onsite in Blue Ash, OH, relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• BS/B.Tech in Mechanical or Aerospace from an accredited university.
• Experience with NX and ANSYS (Classic or Workbench).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings with GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify designs related to aero-engine components by analyzing specifications, performance and manufacturing capabilities.
• Execute mechanical design projects of gas turbine components (frames, shafts, disks, blisks, seals).
• Evaluate concepts of new designs and manufacturing methods and generate reports and change proposals.
• Capture customer requirements and incorporate into component design.
• Support technical substantiation and participate in reviews.
• Develop components with cost, performance and life considerations in mind.
• Design and analyze components using CAE tools (NX, ANSYS).
• Interfacing with internal and external engineering teams.
• Apply engineering principles to solve complex problems.
• Evaluate form, fit, function and life relative to certified configuration.
