Job summary

Ellaway Blues Consulting is seeking a Gas Turbine Design Engineer to bridge engineering design and manufacturing execution on-site in Houston. You will ensure designs are manufacturable, troubleshoot production challenges, and drive improvements across the product lifecycle.

Bring 5+ years in design/manufacturing liaison roles, strong CAD proficiency (SolidWorks/Autodesk/NX/Creo), and excellent communication to collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams. This role requires U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in design engineering, manufacturing engineering, liaison engineering, or a related technical role.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, fabrication, assembly, machining, and product lifecycle support.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and technical requirements.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk products, NX, Creo, or similar platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a production environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, technicians, operators, and leadership teams.
• Comfortable working both in an office setting and on the manufacturing floor.
• Fluency in English, including strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical liaison between engineering, design and manufacturing teams.
• Partner with design engineers to align with manufacturing capabilities and operational requirements.
• Provide hands-on support to production teams when technical issues arise during manufacturing, assembly, repair, or overhaul activities.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure manufacturability and compliance with requirements.
• Investigate production challenges and implement practical engineering solutions to maintain quality and schedule commitments.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams to resolve nonconformances and recurring manufacturing issues.
• Recommend design modifications that improve manufacturability, reliability, serviceability, and cost efficiency.
• Support the creation and revision of technical documentation, work instructions, assembly procedures, and engineering change notices.
• Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action activities.
• Assist with process improvements focused on safety, quality, throughput, and cost reduction.
• Support prototype, development, repair, and production programs from concept through implementation.
• Provide technical guidance and training to production personnel on new designs and engineering changes.
