Our client is a leading provider of industrial equipment and aftermarket services supporting critical energy and rotating equipment operations. They are seeking a Gas Turbine Design Engineer to serve as the key connection between engineering design and manufacturing execution.
This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys being on the shop floor, solving technical problems in real time, and working cross-functionally with engineering, production, quality, and supply chain teams. You'll help ensure designs can be successfully manufactured, troubleshoot production challenges, and drive continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle.
What You Will Do
- Serve as the primary technical liaison between engineering, design and manufacturing teams.
- Partner with design engineers to ensure new and existing designs align with manufacturing capabilities and operational requirements.
- Provide hands-on support to production teams when technical issues arise during manufacturing, assembly, repair, or overhaul activities.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure manufacturability and compliance with requirements.
- Investigate production challenges and implement practical engineering solutions to maintain quality and schedule commitments.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams to resolve nonconformances and recurring manufacturing issues.
- Recommend design modifications that improve manufacturability, reliability, serviceability, and cost efficiency.
- Support the creation and revision of technical documentation, work instructions, assembly procedures, and engineering change notices.
- Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action activities.
- Assist with process improvements focused on safety, quality, throughput, and cost reduction.
- Support prototype, development, repair, and production programs from concept through implementation.
- Provide technical guidance and training to production personnel on new designs and engineering changes.
