Job summary

GE Vernova in Greenville, SC is seeking an Assembler II to join our gas turbine manufacturing team. You will align, assemble, and fit turbine components, interpret blueprints and planning documents, and use cranes, hoists, and power tools to meet exact specifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of manufacturing or industrial assembly experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints or engineering drawings.
• Experience with component fit-up, alignment, drilling, reaming, or bolting.
• Ability to use standard measuring devices to verify quality.
• Comfort working in confined spaces and at heights.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and wear PPE.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.; background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Align, erect, assemble, and fit gas turbine components for new make and repair work.
• Interpret drawings and related documents to complete assembly accurately.
• Position and align components using cranes and lifting devices, drill and bolt to specification.
• Perform mechanical alignments with standard measuring devices.
• Apply quality checks and document measurements to ensure specs.
• Use fixtures, hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and grinding or sanding equipment to complete work.
• Support team by coordinating task flow and mentoring others.
• Operate material-moving equipment such as forklifts and cranes as trained.
• Identify and correct machining or setup issues to maintain quality and production flow.
• Contribute to team problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
• Take ownership of compliance, safety, quality, and productivity in your area.
