Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation seeks a Gas System Planning Engineer III to join a hybrid team supporting a multi-state service area. You will provide engineering analysis and technical support for new projects and existing facilities, including material specifications and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include hydraulic modeling of distribution and transmission systems, project development support, and coordination of permits. A PE license and 7+ years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology and professional licensure (PE).
• 7+ years of industry experience or equivalent training as evaluated by management.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Strong knowledge of natural gas pipeline operations and compliance.
• Excellent written and oral communication of technical requirements.
• Familiarity with CFR 49 Part 192 and related regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.
• Proficiency with software including MS Office, MS Project, Synergi Gas, GasCalc, RSTRENG, AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical engineering expertise on field projects including material and equipment specs.
• Direct oversight of pipeline and distribution system design day model and requirements.
• Perform hydraulic modeling analysis for distribution and transmission systems.
• Support development of new projects and identify required facilities.
• Calculate and maintain station capacities versus customer demand.
• Assist with permitting (railroad, DOT) and regulatory compliance.
• Validate construction and as-built records for new projects.
• Update engineering drawings and material specifications for upgrades.
• Stay current with new regulations and codes; support emergency responses.
