Job summary
Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Gas Equipment Engineer to own and optimize gas supply systems for Fab operations. You will coordinate startup of equipment, work with operations and maintenance teams, and drive safety and reliability improvements across the gas systems fleet.
The role requires strong leadership, a background in gas/chemical equipment, and proficiency in data analysis. This on-site position offers a robust benefits package and opportunities to advance in semiconductor
Qualifications
- Demonstrate strong leadership to interface with stakeholders across Samsung Facilities, Engineering, GCS Operations/Maintenance, and Construction teams.
- Familiarity with operation, maintenance, and design of gas and chemical equipment including piping systems.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with analyzing trends in process and equipment systems related to flow rates, pressures, and consumption.
- Experience with PSM/RMP program management is a plus.
- Six Sigma and/or LEAN improvement tools at a minimum or plus.
- Ability to thrive in a multi-cultural environment.
- Fab engineering experience in the semiconductor industry is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own and improve gas supply systems, safety standards, and equipment reliability across the Fab.
- Troubleshoot emergent equipment issues and provide technical direction for resolution.
- Plan and execute non-standard maintenance with maintenance teams to address failures.
- Coordinate with Fab Engineering for technical support and safety improvements.
- Commission and startup new equipment installations.
- Lead and drive continuous improvement projects to reduce cost and enhance quality.
- Optimize preventative maintenance strategies for aging assets.
- Standardize work processes, alarm management, and 6S principles.
