Job Summary

WTG is seeking a Sr. Natural Gas Scheduler to join its commercial team in Dallas, Texas, and drive the growth and retention of natural gas volumes across WTG's midstream pipeline system. This role serves as a primary point of contact for local distribution companies, power generators, and commercial and industrial end users, translating WTG's infrastructure capabilities into contracted volumes, long‑term relationships, and reliable service.

The ideal candidate brings hands‑on experience in natural gas marketing, scheduling, or commercial operations, along with a working knowledge of physical and financial gas markets, pipeline tariffs, and NAESB/FERC standards. This person is comfortable managing a portfolio of customer accounts, negotiating contract terms, and coordinating closely with scheduling, credit, and asset operations teams to keep gas flowing reliably and profitably.

As WTG continues to expand its footprint to serve growing demand across increasingly complex natural gas markets, this role directly supports the company's growth strategy by strengthening customer relationships, identifying new volume opportunities, and ensuring WTG's commercial commitments are executed with precision.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may provide functional guidance to accounting, credit, and contract administration staff on customer-related matters.

Key Responsibilities
Customer & Market Development
  • Build and maintain relationships with LDCs, power generators, and commercial and industrial customers to grow contracted gas volumes across WTG's pipeline system.
  • Identify and pursue new customer opportunities along WTG's existing and planned infrastructure, aligning volume growth with the company's capital deployment priorities.
  • Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for an assigned portfolio of accounts, ensuring customer needs are understood and addressed proactively.
  • Represent WTG at industry events, customer meetings, and site visits to strengthen market presence and identify emerging demand.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market dynamics to inform pricing strategy and customer retention efforts.
Contract Negotiation & Administration
  • Track contract renewals, amendments, and expirations, proactively engaging customers ahead of key dates to protect volume commitments.
  • Maintain accurate contract and customer records in WTG's commercial systems to support reporting and audit requirements.
Gas Nominations & Scheduling Coordination
  • Coordinate with the scheduling team to ensure customer nominations align with contracted volumes and pipeline capacity.
  • Resolve day‑to‑day customer scheduling and delivery issues, escalating operational constraints to Gas Supply and Operations as needed.
  • Support monthly and daily gas balancing activities, working cross‑functionally to minimize imbalances and associated costs.
  • Communicate operational changes, curtailments, or capacity constraints to affected customers in a timely and professional manner.
Market Intelligence & Pricing Strategy
  • Analyze natural gas market fundamentals, basis differentials, and pricing trends to support customer proposals and internal forecasting.
  • Prepare pricing recommendations and margin analyses for new and renewing contracts in coordination with the Director of Gas Supply.
  • Contribute customer and market insights to WTG's budgeting and volume forecasting processes.
Stakeholder & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Business Development to align commercial commitments with pipeline capacity and system reliability.
  • Coordinate with Credit and Finance to evaluate customer creditworthiness and manage exposure within approved limits.
  • Prepare regular reporting on volumes, customer activity, and market conditions for the Director of Gas Supply and senior leadership.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Energy Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
  • 3-5+ years of experience in natural gas marketing, scheduling, commercial operations, or a related role within the midstream, utility, or LDC segment.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating and administering gas sales, transportation, or storage agreements.
  • Working knowledge of NAESB standards, FERC regulations, and pipeline tariff structures as they relate to natural gas marketing.
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Strong negotiation, relationship‑building, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with gas scheduling, nomination, and contract management systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with commercial/ERP systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical and contractual matters clearly to customers.
  • Ability to manage multiple customer accounts and competing priorities in a fast‑paced commercial environment.
  • Proficiency with AI‑assisted tools and willingness to adopt emerging technologies to improve workflows, analysis, and decision‑making.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience marketing natural gas directly to LDCs, power generators, or large commercial and industrial end users.
  • Prior experience at a midstream pipeline company or natural gas utility.
  • Familiarity with pipeline SCADA, flow measurement, or scheduling platforms.
  • Existing relationships with natural gas buyers, marketers, or producers.
  • Experience using AI tools for market analysis, pricing models, or reporting automation.

  • Occasional exposure to outdoor and field conditions during site visits to pipeline or customer facilities.
