Job summary

ENSTAR is seeking a Gas Supply Analyst to join the Gas Supply department in Alaska. You will help monitor and analyze gas demand and supply markets, support forecasting systems, and assist with planning for short- and long-term gas needs.

You will coordinate with producers, pipelines, and regulators to ensure compliance and efficient operations. The role emphasizes data analysis, system use, and cross-functional collaboration within ENSTAR, with opportunities to contribute to training materials

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Proficiency in Excel and the ability to learn new systems.
  • 2–5 years of related analytical experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with natural gas markets or energy industry practices preferred.

  • Update and maintain systems to monitor, review, and analyze gas demand.

  • Support Gas Day/Gas Hour forecasting and nominations systems.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining supply, storage, and transportation plans.
  • Maintain contract records and support gas supply and storage contracts administration.
  • Monitor gas market news, tariffs, AOGCC filings, regulatory proceedings for the team.
  • Help develop training materials for daily gas forecasting and purchasing procedures.
  • Provide Gas Supply support to Regulatory and Accounting teams.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders including producers and pipeline companies.

What You Will Do:
As a Gas Supply Analyst, you will play an essential role within our Gas Supply department, reporting to the Gas Supply Manager. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Update and maintain system used to monitor, review, and analyze gas demand.
  • Update and maintain system used to monitor, review, and analyze gas supply market.
  • Support Gas Day/Gas Hour and other gas forecasting and nominations systems.
  • Support the development and maintenance of supply, storage, and transportation plans for long-term and short-term gas supply requirements.
  • Maintain contract records and support the administration of gas supply and storage contracts.
  • Follow Cook Inlet gas supply market news, pipeline tariffs, AOGCC filings, regulatory proceedings to keep the Gas Supply team informed.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of training materials for daily gas forecasting and gas purchasing procedures.
  • Provide Gas Supply support to Regulatory and Accounting teams.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders, including gas producers, pipeline companies, and other utilities.
  • Support ENSTAR's transportation customers and assist with monitoring activities for regulatory and contractual compliance.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring:
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics or related field required, or equivalent work experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn and effectively use new systems, processes and concepts.
  • 2-5 years' of related analytical or industry experience, including experience in forecasting and modeling is preferred.
  • Familiarity with natural gas markets, utility operation or energy industry practices is preferred.
  • Must possess a valid Alaska Driver's License and be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the ENSTAR's Driving Policy.
  • Ability to pass a background, past employment, credit, drug, and driving record screening.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Good analytical, and organizational skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and evaluate data from multiple sources.
  • Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills to financial and operational data.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to effectively work with contractors, consultants, governmental agencies, and other departments/personnel to accomplish ENSTAR's objectives.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently on routine assignments and collaboratively within a team.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and willingness to take on a variety of operational challenges.
