Job summary

City Of Fairhope is seeking an entry-level Gas Technician I to repair gas lines, dig trenches, and install gas services for homes and businesses within the service area.

Under the supervision of the Gas Crew Leader, you will operate equipment, respond to emergencies, and assist with public inquiries on job sites. A safety-sensitive role requiring a pre-employment background check and drug screenings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current driver license; must be insurable.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and an initial drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Repair gas lines and ensure proper inspections.
• Install gas services and main gas distribution lines.
• Dig gas service trenches with hand or mechanized equipment.
• Respond to gas system emergencies as part of the emergency response team.
• Interact with the public at job sites and relay information professionally.
