Job summary

USIC is seeking outdoor-focused technicians for Advanced Gas Operations. You will locate gas lines in the field using specialized equipment, mark sites, and perform occasional hand digging. Training is provided and overtime/weekend shifts may be required.

Strong safety awareness and reliability are essential for this role based in Mississippi. No prior locating experience is required, but a driver’s license, ability to travel locally, and comfort with field conditions are necessary.

Qualifications

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
• Ability to travel locally during the business day; some overnight travel may be expected.
• Able to pass a drug screen (safety-sensitive position).
• Proficiency with technology and maps/tickets.

Responsibilities

• Use locating equipment to determine gas line locations in a designated area and mark the area with paint and flags to prevent damage. Some hand digging may be required.
• Develop knowledge and understanding of underground utility infrastructure.
• Follow all company, client, state, and federal damage prevention guidelines.
• As a technician in Advanced Gas Operations, you may locate other utilities in addition to gas lines, depending on the project.
