Job summary

MasTec Utility Services is seeking a Gas Operator to trench for natural gas pipelines, dig around underground utilities, and ensure proper backfill. You will support the Line team and collaborate with department personnel in a field setting.

The role requires operating heavy equipment safely, performing routine checks, and complying with safety standards in varied weather and terrain. This is a full-time field position with opportunities to grow within a national contractor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate jobsite equipment safely.
• Perform service, safety checks, and minor repairs on equipment, check oil and fluids.
• Load trucks in safe and accident-free manner.
• Observe pipe laying for safety purposes, such as possible cave-ins.
• Dig around all live utilities, both underground and overhead.
• Install natural gas pipelines in ditch and provide sufficient backfill.
• Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
